Important Note About Ducted Air Handlers

Note: Air handlers have many possible configuration options and are built to order, with around three months lead time to be expected. Don’t wait until the last minute for ordering.

Note: All units are shipped as -R for right-hand side connections. If -L is needed for left-hand side connections, please order it that way. Right or left is specified as when “facing in the direction of the outlet airflow.”

Note: When sizing air handlers for use with Chiltrix air-to-water heat pumps it is important to consider the capacity in BTU/h, airflow, and static pressure – this should be handled by your professional contractor while noting the potential non-standard operating characteristics of the Chiltrix ultra-high- high efficiency air-to-water heat pump.

Note: If you want a 0-10v control option, it must be ordered that way. This feature cannot be added in the field.

Air handlers are generally rated for cooling at 44 °F entering water temperature. That’s also fine for Chiltrix, however, if you equip your Chiltrix with DHC (Dynamic Humidity Control) it is advisable to properly size the air handler for the non-standard DHC temperature (generally, 54 °F EWT for DHC operation).

Many Other Fan Coil Options

If you don’t prefer a ducted system, consider our ultra-high efficiency DC Inverter ductless room fan coil units for better efficiency and individual room zoning. Note, you can also mix and match or you may decide to use a combo. For example, you might use a ducted or concealed ceiling fan coil approach for an open area of your home such as a combined living-dining-kitchen room, or a great room, etc. and at the same time, decide to use ductless room fan coil units for bedrooms, office, den, or other individual rooms. In addition, any of these options can be used along with radiant heating.
