Thin Wall
The ThinWall ductless room units are 5″ thin “Euro-style” units that can be used on a wall, floor, or flipped and used on a ceiling (as shown).
Thin Wall
The ThinWall 5″ thin “Euro-style” units are ductless and can be used on a wall, floor (as shown) or ceiling and may be mounted in various rooms. Four sizes are available.
High Wall
The familiar “American Style” high-wall fan coil units (standard mini-split form factor) are mounted high up on a wall. There are three different sizes available. There is also a “ceiling cassette” version that hides inside of the ceiling.
Infloor Radiant
Radiant systems may be used in the floor (or ceilings) for heating (and/or cooling). All or part of the home can use radiant.
Buffer Tank
In the summer, the buffer tank powers a chilled-water cooling system. In the winter, it is hot and supports space heating. This is the “heart” of a typical hydronic system that feeds any radiant zones, ducted air handlers, ductless fan coil units.
Domestic Hot Water Tank
Year-round, the optional domestic hot water tank is heated by the heat pump for the highest possible level of energy efficiency.
Chiltrix Heat Pumps
The outdoor heat pump equipment is usually connected to a buffer tank by PEX piping. And, may also connect to an optional domestic hot water tank for ultra-efficient domestic water heating.
Air Handler
Standard size (up to 5 tons) or reduced size “mini” hydronic air handlers may be used with traditional ductwork for entire floors, a whole home, or smaller zones.
A Smarter, Cleaner Way to Heat and Cool
How a Chiltrix Air-to-Water Heat Pump System Works:
A Chiltrix hydronic heat pump is a little different from a traditional “Air to Air” based unit. The heat pump(s) are located outdoors, but that’s where the similarity begins to fade away. The indoor equipment may include any combination of radiant zones, a wide variety of ducted air handlers, ductless fan coil units, and a domestic hot water tank, all set up to provide the heating, cooling, and domestic water heating needed in the home.
The indoor and outdoor components are connected to each other by flexible insulated PEX water lines, usually with a buffer tank in between. Not only is the Chiltrix system much more efficient and flexible than a traditional system, the outdoor unit is factory-sealed & tested, and delivered as a fully self-contained appliance ready for connection. 100% of the refrigerant stays outdoors and outside of the building envelope, with no refrigerant ever indoors – an important safety benefit considering the potential hazards associated with today’s refrigerants.
The Chiltrix system holds officially certified world records for efficiency in heating, cooling, and water heating. There is no air to water heat pump in the market with higher efficiency in any category. In the summer, it works as a chilled-water system, a miniature version of the same systems used in large office buildings for intensive cooling and strong dehumidification. In the winter, the heat pump acts as a compressor-powered boiler, delivering 2–6 times more heat output per unit of energy input (a COP of 2–6) compared to a boiler. And all year long, it can make domestic hot water with a DOE-Certified record-setting UEF up to 4.95 and up to 133 gallons First-Hour Ratings.
